Engage
"Justice, justice, you shall pursue." (Deuteronomy 16:20.)
The Talmud teaches that "tzedaka is equal to all the other commandments combined." (Bava Bathra 9b)
At Beth Jacob Synagogue, we offer many opportunities to engage within our congregation and with the larger community around us. Volunteers cook and serve meals through the community dinner project. Participants in the social action committee discuss pressing social issues and ways to foster change. The Planning for Aging Group studies issues related to aging and develops means to support members of our community in the latter stage of life. And throughout it all, we engage with each other by providing occasions to gather and socialize.

Please join us as we sing a short song from the Psalms, sit for twenty minutes, walk for ten minutes, then sing another Hebrew song. Sometimes a brief discussion follows. Words to songs are supplied in Hebrew and transliteration. All are welcomed whatever your experience may be. We do not offer instructions or guided meditations.
